How the estimate works
Where the numbers come from, what the model is and is not asked to do, and the three things this service will not tell you however you phrase the question.

Where do the numbers come from?
From a written upkeep table that is part of this site. Each technique has hours and minutes recorded against it — an ordinary morning, a week's washing, the interval between appointments, the length of an appointment, the take-down — and everything else, including the year total, is arithmetic over those entries.
No model produces a duration here. A model is used for one thing, and only when the deployment has configured one: reading which technique a reference photograph shows. It is never asked how long anything takes, it is instructed not to answer if it is asked, and there is no field anywhere in this service that could receive a duration from it.
Is this an estimate for me?
No. It estimates the upkeep a technique generally requires. It is not an estimate for you as an individual.
Your hair texture, how fast your hair grows, your stylist's hand and how practised you are all change the result substantially, and this service knows none of them. That is why every duration on this site is given as a range and why the list of what the estimate cannot know is shown at full strength on every plan, free included.
Is this a medical or health service?
No, and this is the most important sentence on the page.
Rootine makes no judgement about hair loss, thinning, the condition of anyone's scalp or breakage. It does not address follicles, regrowth or any medical question at all. It is a calculator that adds up minutes and it has no competence beyond that.
Anything concerning your scalp or hair loss belongs with a dermatologist or a trichologist. If you describe something of that kind in the workspace, the estimate stops rather than runs and you are given that referral instead of an answer, on every plan.
Will it tell me whether a style suits me?
Never. It analyses no face shape and no skin tone, makes no appraisal of appearance and expresses no opinion about whether anything looks good or looks better.
Whether something suits you is a matter between you and your stylist. This service answers one question, which is what the upkeep costs in time.
What happens to the reference photo?
It is read for the technique and then discarded. No original image is stored, no person recognition or facial analysis is performed, and nothing you upload is used to train anything. The privacy policy says the same thing at greater length.
This service also generates no image of any hairstyle. The deliverable is a table and a list, and there is no image-producing path in it at all.
Does it recommend anything?
No salon, no price, no product and no brand. Where the upkeep needs a category of thing — a satin or silk covering at night — the category is named and nothing else is. Nobody pays to appear on this site because there is nowhere to appear.
What must this not be used for?
Medical, legal, financial, safety, employment, credit, housing and judicial decision-making are all prohibited uses. The output is an estimate of housekeeping time and it is not fit for any of them.
